NSI-KINECT

Noise Source Identification using Kinect.

Overview

Do you need a hyper-directional microphone to localize the places where noise of your product occurs? Do you want to associate images to the sound to better identify noise sources? Why don't you use kinect sensor to do this?

NSI-KINECT turns Kinect sensor into a very low cost beamforming microphone array system to get relevant information on noise sources. TO do this, Heckl uses advanced algorithms such as beamforming, noise cancelling and spectral filtering : Signals can be played back and visualized using spectrogram, third octave bands and loudness.

Features

Record noise from bounded places

Select an area that you want to record noise.
Heckl gonna create a .wav file and an image to link noise and part of your product.

Post-processing

Audio recording can both be visualized with spectrogram, third octave bands and loudness, and be played using spectral filters. This mix of audio and graphics resources helps you to identify noise sources.
